Dance competition and Geoff's birthday

So Geoff's 25th birthday, dance competition, and Easter long weekend fell on the same day this year! It was such an exhausting but great day. I went at 9 am to watch Maurgan's pro-am competition (she won everything as expected although it was unfortunate that some of them were uncontested), Geoff and Sandi danced in the afternoon (they placed 4th in bronze latin which was excellent! go 74!), went for dinner, and watched the pre-champ and championship competitions in senior standard and latin until 1 am.

It was such an overload of all my senses. Just watching all the flashy costumes, the amazing talent, listening to the music, etc. I was just exhausted! Luckily they had short breaks so that we in the audience could dance and avoid getting deep vein thrombosis from sitting too long!

Geoff and I were great judges too. I think we guessed about 7/8 places correctly - so at least I think the judging was fair. In the adult championship latin competition all the Calgarian contestants were shut out of the finals. All those Easterners kicked our asses unfortunately!

We had some awards of our own for the adult championship latin:

Worst dress
#1 A dress made of red tubes that made Maurgan think of a car wash.
#2 Orange dress with black feathers on the bottom that made the girl look like an ostrich, or worse a character from Moulin Rouge.
#3 A white dress (on the reigning champ) that looked like white feathers were growing out of her chest!
#4 Shapless piece of black cloth that made an already stout looking girl look like a box.
