Update from Nanaimo
The past few days have been a whirlwind tour of Vancouver and Nanaimo (on Vancouver Island). Geoff dropped me off at the airport on Wed morning. I bumped into a friend who was on his way to Vancouver for a business meeting for the day. In fact, I know several people that are coming to Van for conferences, meetings, etc. at about the same time as me.
My aunt and uncle picked me up and we went out for dim sum. Gotta take advantage of all the yummy food in Van! Unfortunately this means that my pre-wedding diet has gone out the window! Oh well, there's still time to lose those last couple lbs I just gained... My aunt and I went shopping the same afternoon and tried to find a Ghanaian soccer jersey for me. It seems that no one carries them in North America at all! So I'm hoping my friends in Ghana can buy one for me and send it in the mail. But I ended up buying some other stuff to make up for that loss... hehe :)
The next day I took the ferry over to Nanaimo and got picked up by my other aunt and uncle. I got to meet their dog, Tika, for the first time and she's a very well behaved dog. My aunt's cooking is sooo good, we had a dinner party with some of their neighbours and we feasted on roast beef. Since I was the only one who remembered the names of the places we visited in Madagascar in 2003, I had to give the commentary to the slideshow we did after dinner!
Today was a busy day. My aunt and I walked along the harbourfront this morning. It rained for the second straight day so we ended up doing more tea-drinking than walking. We picked up my uncle and then went to yoga. It was the second time I've been to yoga in my life, so all things considered I thought I did pretty well. I managed to sort of do a headstand position and I didn't pull any muscles so all-in-all, a pretty successful attempt at doing y9ga. Then we had lunch at an Indian restaurant to fit into our yoga theme... very yummy food.
In other news, my wedding dress is done! It looks awesome and no one gets to see it until W-Day. I just need to lose about 2 lbs for insurance so that I can breathe while wearing the dress!

Ohh yes, driving to Vancouver on Friday was more than fun.
Rain, whiteouts, mist, fog... including some detours due to rockslides and such.
But the weekend turned out rather beautifully. Say, I believe you're next in our queue of weddings to attend. :)
