I can't wait till end of April
This crazy course load is definitely taking its toll on me. But I don't think people actually realize how much I have to do.
Here's an idea of my weekly/monthly schedule:
Monday - Methods class (read 2 papers each week, 1.5 hr long presentation every 2nd week, final paper)
Tuesday - TA Anth 435 class + office hours
Wednesday - Archaeology class (read 6-7 papers each week + answer questions, book review (Mar 4), teach the class (Mar 30), and final paper)
Thursday - TA Anth 435 class
Friday - Professional skills class (assignments due each week, 2 presentations infront of class, grant proposal)
And then add to that my on-going work:
Thesis development - data analysis due within next couple of weeks (and I haven't started!), final draft of thesis proposal due early March, defend proposal infront of committee at end of March
Teaching piano - 3-4 hrs a week on Wed and Sat
This means I have somewhere between 12 hours of class, 3-4 hours of teaching piano, 3 hours of TAing, 25 hours of reading, and 20 hours of homework each week! That's 64 hours a week! Then add on another 5-6 hours a week that I need to spend on my thesis and I am at around 70 hours a week! I also spend around 15 hours a week eating, 50 hours sleeping, and 15 hours a week getting to the university and back to my house. That is about 150 hours out of a possible 168 (24x7) hours in a week! That gives me a full 18 hours a week, or less than 3 hours a day, to do non-essential things like showering and getting dressed in the morning, talking to my boyfriend on the phone, and dancing.
