Meditation Class

I started a meditation class on Wed nights at this Chinese Buddhist Monastery about 1.5 blocks away from my apt.

It's something I've been thinking of doing for a while now since I took a few classes at my old Theravada temple down in the south. I definitely need to learn how to calm down, deal with my anger and frustration, and stop worrying about the future, etc.

The sitting meditation has definitely been a challenge. Just sitting still in half-lotus ( I haven't graduated to full-lotus yet) for 45 mins without moving is bad enough. Add onto that, trying to clear your mind of thoughts and concentrate on breathing... it's no cake walk that's for sure. My inner bird wants to fly away when I'm trying to sit still and it flits from thought to thought constantly!

Hopefully, with a lot of effort, I will start making some progress soon!
