Just got back from our curling game. We won!! This time it was me as lead, Geoff as second, Heather as third, and Peter as skip. We played an awesome game and I thought I did really well too. Not bad for playing as many games as I have fingers on 1 hand.
In other news, I doubt I'm going to make my Wed deadline for having my thesis intro completed... I just can't work for 20 hours a day to make it happen. Oh well, I don't think it'll be the end of the world.
Seems like the Far North is calling us. I met Geoff's grandfather last week and he really wants us to move up to Inuvik. Between being totally isolated and not having anywhere to spend your money + making lots of money in wages and isolation bonuses, you can make a real killing in the North. Incidentally, I also met up with my uncle (a fisheries ecologist) later in the week who was going to Inuvik for some work. As an ecologist, there's tons of work up north doing environmental assessment work for pipelines, etc. If we don't end up going to Japan, we might end up in the North. Only a few problems: I hate cold weather, Geoff won't be able to find programming work up there, and I will miss everyone terribly.
Wedding planning is going slow... but going. I definitely couldn't do it without the help of the wedding party. Liya has been indispensable and I think Mandy's having an awesome time with her job as fashion coordinator. With the help of Chir (and Stef - I'm mooching off the work that she and Henry have done already since they're getting married a week before us) we found our photographer. Check out his website at http://budmoorephotography.com His website doesn't do his work enough justice. We met him in person and we love his creative style and his passion for his work. And we're booked in for the ceremony, pictures, and reception at Fort Calgary for July 22, 2006. Only 187 days to go!
